Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
GrowthInFaith ("we," "us," or "our") operates the GrowthInFaith mobile app and the growthinfaith.org website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your email address, and if you choose to sign in with Google, the name and profile information Google shares with us. If you sign up directly, your password is handled and stored securely by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication) — we never see or store it ourselves.
- Profile information: your first and last name or display name, a profile photo if you choose to upload one, and optional profile details like bio, location, and interests you choose to share.
- Content you create: your daily habit and guided-journey check-ins, optional notes you attach to them, your weekly reflection answers, and any community posts (wins, struggles, prayers, or testimonials) you choose to share — including whether you mark a post anonymous or visible to friends only versus public.
- Progress and activity data:your XP, streaks, badges, level/tier, which growth system you've chosen (Habit Journey or Guided Journey), and who you follow within the app.
- Communications: if you contact us for support, we keep a record of that correspondence.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service — track your progress, show your streaks and badges, and display community content to the right audience based on your visibility choices.
- To personalize your experience, such as showing content relevant to your chosen growth system.
- To communicate with you, including account-related emails (like password resets) and, if you opt in, updates about the app.
- To maintain the safety and integrity of the community, including reviewing reported content.
- To improve the Service over time.
How Your Information Is Shared
Content you post publicly (or that you mark visible to friends) is shown to other users according to the visibility setting you chose at the time of posting. Anonymous testimonials are shown without your name attached.
We use trusted service providers to operate the app, including Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication, database, and file storage) and Cloudflare (website hosting). These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes. We do not otherwise sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GrowthInFaith, our users, or others.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase, which applies industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit. Access to the underlying database is restricted by security rules that limit each user to reading and writing only what they're permitted to. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: you can view and edit most of your profile information directly within the app.
- Deletion:you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below, or through the in-app request option once available. We'll delete your data except where we're required to retain it by law.
- Visibility controls: you choose whether each post is visible to friends or the public, and whether testimonials are posted anonymously.
If you're located in a region with specific data protection rights (such as the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to request a copy of your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete your associated data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required for legal or legitimate business purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app.
